STYELD HABITAT had to tackle the challenge of designing a tween who had veto rights and a lot of input in the design progress. It was all about the art of display! To preserve the things that he was most attached to, We had to come up with creative ways to display the tiny Lego figures, sports awards, beloved sneaker collection, to how to frame school art projects.
Rather than following any elaborate design rules, we knew we had to maximize the space by utilizing the walls to house the different collections. The floor was reserved for fun, video games, board games, and weekend-long slumber parties. We allocated zones for video games, studying, and sleeping. The different display collections provided focal points that highlight the function of each zone in the room. The primary-color palette is more sophisticated with the contrasts against the black-painted wall.
Kids and teens design is about finding furniture that is kid-friendly but not actually ‘kid furniture. Less furniture, more floor space for playing with Legos.
At STYLED HABITAT we really think most young adults are very sophisticated in their style and are stimulated by colors and patterns rather than themes.
